Synopsis

The ultimate journey toward recovery begins when you decide to stop running from yourself.

At thirty years old, Javier Giner’s life had spiraled into an unmanageable path of self-destruction. As an audiovisual professional struggling with alcohol and cocaine addiction, and diagnosed with an impulse-control disorder, he makes the most difficult and crucial decision of his existence: voluntarily checking himself into a rehabilitation center. Determined not to leave until he has fully healed, Javier sets out to rewrite a fate that seemed already sealed.

Armed only with his personal journal and an unwavering resolve, the series chronicles his months of therapy and connection within an isolated sanctuary surrounded by nature. Supported by his social worker, Anais, and a memorable cast of fellow patients, Javier faces the ghosts of his addiction head-on. A heartbreaking yet luminous real-life chronicle about losing control, accepting pain, and the absolute reconstruction of one’s identity.

Why is it in the directory? This series offers an exceptionally honest, human, and unsensationalized portrayal of substance abuse. By bringing the daily reality of a rehabilitation clinic to light, it breaks down the societal stigmas surrounding dependency and proves that therapy, shared vulnerability, and professional support are the true tools to reclaiming freedom.
